A Mother to be

Where have I put that shopping list
There may be something I have missed
Let me see, I’ll have to check
Amazing! it looks so hi-tech

Disposable nappies first of all
Do they come in large and small?
And of course some baby wipes
Gripe water for tummy gripes

Alarm batteries, to make it louder
Got to get some talcum powder
What if his head gets cradle cap
Ah! warm olive oil, then towel wrap

When it’s bath time will I cope
That’s what I missed the baby soap
Face cloth so my nails don’t scratch
On his head his little bald patch

Baby lotion to soften his skin
Ear-plugs to soften the din
Is it too early to use a shampoo?
Oh! I’ll get some and conditioner too

Cotton buds for poking his nose
Daddy can do that I suppose
It’s great no need for nappy pins
I’ll have him changed and out in mins

I’m quite exhausted reading all this
I must lie down ah! what bliss.
