Versicals Poems

( P) Metrified

I must own up, though I profess
To know a thing or two
And I do believe in progress
Honestly I do

But metrication has befuddled my brain
It was always fully alerted
Now I’ve to turn it round again
And have it re-diverted

Still don’t know just where I am
I’m completely out of date
With metre, litre and the gramme
I’m finding it hard to calculate

There’s millilitres, milllimetres
Centimetres,milligrammes
Oh! it’s too much, I’m turning back
My brain just doesn’t have the knack.
